On 28th September, 2018, the Supreme Court delivered its verdict on Sabarimala Temple Entry Case. Since then, it has become one of the most talked about cases in recent times. Since, it questions the validity of following the age-old customs in Hindu temples even today, it has been a hot topic for debates all over the country.

Mr Prashant Padmanabhan, in this interview, gives us the insider's view by answering all the burning questions related to the case. He clarifies all the aspects of the Sabarimala Case and explains how the issue actually arose.

The interview touches various aspects of the case including the majority and dissenting judgments, civil rights v. religious customs, review petitions, and so on.

As a law student, lawyer, legal academician, you need to be well versed with the landmark judgments. One such very famous case is Indian Young Lawyers Association v. The State of Kerala (Sabarimala Temple Entry Case).

In this talk, our guest Mr Prashant Padmanabhan discusses this case in detail. He gives us the insights right from the origin of the custom being questioned, how was it brought into question, what was the earliest judgment, to the review petition before a nine-judge bench in Supreme Court. He further discusses the constitutional articles invoked in the case, the arguments and opinions that entailed in the case, review procedure being followed by the Supreme Court, and intervention of Central Government in the case.
